I'm so happy I found this school. The only-girls environment is so friendly and nonjudgmental that you never, ever have to worry about getting judged, and you can fully focus on what's being taught. The school has one of those very rare extremely-educating-but-also-extremely-fun environments to it. Joining this school was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Karate Techniques
KATA - TECHNIQUE

Women and girls excel at learning the finer aspects of karate techniques, working on exercises that help you develop strength & power.
KUMITE - SPARRING

At Karate Excellence we only practice light contact sparring. Exercises focus on speed and precision. Before you know it your heart rate is up and you are burning those calories!
BUNKAI - SELF-DEFENSE

Bunkai is the practical application of karate techniques to potential real life situations. Students gradually learn practical self-defense tips as part of the full Yoshukan karate program.
Yoshukan Karate Association

Front row, left to right are some of our senior instructors : Peter Bakomihalis 4th Dan, Rebecca Koury 4th Dan, Kancho Earl Robertson Yoshukan Founder and 7th Dan, Shihan Louise Provencher Yoshukan Technical Director and 5th Dan, Elizabeth Gormley 4th Dan.
Karate excellence is part of the Yoshukan Karate Association founded by Kancho Earl Robertson. The Yoshukan school motto is Building Life Champions. We are a Montreal Karate School for women and girls, dedicated to technical excellence, while developing each student to their fullest potential, body mind and spirit.
The female-only environment is a definite asset especially for girls who may be shy or intimidated by boys. The Sensei is warm and inviting. She is patient with younger members of the dojo and provides fun activities, which teach basic skills in a non-threatening manner. When my daughter started she only would go to one class a week but now she usually attends three.
